چکیده

weight at the end of a string can take any of an infinite number of closed paths through phase space, depending on the height from which it is released. Biological systems (and clock pendulums), in contrast, tend to have not only a characteristic period hut also a characteristic amplitude. They trace a particular path through phase space, and if some perturbation jolts them out of their accustomed rhythm they soon return to their former path. If someone startles you, say, by shouting, "Boo!", your heart may start pounding but soon relaxes to its normal behavior. Oscillators that have a standard waveform and amplitude to which they return after small pertUIbations are known as limit-eycle oscillators. They incorporate a dissipative mechanism to damp oscillations that grow too large and a source of energy to pump up those that become too smali.

Various synchronization patterns from a pulse-coupled neural network of chaotic spiking oscillators - Neural Networks, 2001. Proceedings. IJCNN '01. International Joint Conference on

We present a pulse-coupled neural network (PCNN) of chaotic spiking oscillators (CSOs) with a spike-train input. The PCNN exhibits the following phenomena: each CSO synchronizes with a part of the spike-train input (a) without overlapping or (b) with overlapping. We clarify parameter regions for these phenomena. The PCNN has various synchronization states and exhibits one of them depending on t...

Model Checking Biological Oscillators

We define a subclass of timed automata, called oscillator timed automata, suitable to model biological oscillators. The semantics of their interactions, parametric w.r.t. a model of synchronization, is introduced. We apply it to the Kuramoto model. Then, we introduce a logic, Kuramoto Synchronization Logic (KSL), and a model checking algorithm in order to verify collective synchronization prope...

Anomalous Synchronization of Integrate-and-Fire Oscillators with Global Coupling

We study an infinite assembly of integrate and fire oscillators with global coupling. Numerical simulations reveal that the time required for the mutual synchrony of all the oscillators exhibits singular behavior as a function of the interaction strength. The origin of this anomalous synchronization is elucidated by a theoretical analysis. Synchronization is one of the most fascinating nonlinea...

Topological Determinants of Synchronizability of Oscillators on Large Complex Networks

Synchronized oscillations play an important role in many biological systems. In recent years, much work has been done on oscillating biomolecular systems, both experimentally and theoretically. A better insight into oscillation mechanisms, coupling strategies and related biological processes is gained by quantitative analysis. Here we summarized some of recent work on oscillation and synchroniz...

Synchronization in a population of globally coupled chaotic oscillators

– We demonstrate synchronization transition in a large ensemble of non-identical chaotic oscillators, globally coupled via the mean field. We show that this coherent behaviour is due to synchronization of phases of these oscillators, while their amplitudes remain chaotic. Two types of transition, depending on the phase coherence properties of the individual systems, are described. A number of p...

On Coupled Oscillators Networks

In this study, we propose two types of coupled oscillators networks and investigate their steady states. One network has two-dimensional honeycomb structure. The other network has twedimensional lattice structure. In the Honeycomb circuit, adjacent three oscillators are coupled by one coupling resistor and it is considered that the voltages of three oscillators around a coupling resistor make t...
